About Us
Here and Now Food Shed (Healthy, Ecologically-Responsible Economy,
North of Wellington) is owned and operated by farmer Laurel Smith. We grow diverse annual vegetables—tomatoes, squash, beets, kale, peppers, onions, garlic, artichokes, cucumbers, etc—as well as perennials like asparagus and strawberries. We are a drip-irrigated low-till farm (increasingly no-till) focused on supporting soil life with mulch, cover cropping, and rotational grazing. We are committed to paying livable wages to those we hire to work on the farm and paid internships for agriculture students.
